I got this from one of my daily reads, The Sheila Variations.

I cannot recommend Sheila's blog highly enough. She's the kind of intellectual I want to be. She's intelligent, poetic, contemplative, and above all, PASSIONATE. When she gets into something, she REALLY GETS INTO IT, and all she wants to do is share her discoveries with anyone who'll listen.

Aw geez, have you MET me? Musicals were as important to my childhood as Flinstones vitamins. I guess I just have to choose one at random, so I'll say West Side Story.

7. Name a movie that you have been known to sing along with.
Yeah, every musical, but I think most robustly: 1776... "Someone oughta OOOOOOpen up a window!"

8. Name a movie that you would recommend everyone see.
Casablanca. It lives up to everything you've ever heard about it.

9. Name a movie that you own.
I own a lot of movies. One of them is The Red Violin.

10. Name an actor that launched his/her entertainment career in another medium but who has surprised you with his/her acting chops.
Greg Kinnear. He's just so likeable, and he's really grown as an actor since Sabrina.

11. Have you ever seen a movie in a drive-in? If so, what?
No. *sob*

12. Ever made out in a movie?
You know, I don't think I have. Again, *sob*

13. Name a movie that you keep meaning to see but just haven't yet gotten around to it.
Metropolis. It was on my Netflix list, and my mom inadvertently sent it back before I got to watch it (I was home recovering from surgery at the time). It's back on my list now, but I keep finding other movies that need to be higher on my queue. :)

14. Ever walked out of a movie?
No, but I would have liked to have walked out on The Notorious Bettie Page. What a piece of crap.

15. Name a movie that made you cry in the theater.
Dancer in the Dark

16. Popcorn?
Usually. I'm also a big fan of Icees at the movies.


17. How often do you go to the movies (as opposed to renting them or watching them at home)?
Not enough. In a perfect world I'd go at least twice a month. As it is, it's been at least four months. When I'm out of town on a gig I tend to go more, usually on Friday afternoons when I don't have to do a matinee. Plus, movies are cheaper outside of NYC.


18. What's the last movie you saw in the theater?
Aw, jeez. You know it's been too long when you JUST. CAN'T. REMEMBER.


19. What's your favorite/preferred genre of movie?
Anything but GORE.


20. What's the first movie you remember seeing in the theater?
Bambi


21. What movie do you wish you had never seen?
The Notorious Bettie Page. Seriously, that's 2 1/2 hours of my life I'll never get back.


22. What is the weirdest movie you enjoyed?
Heavenly Creatures. I caught it on cable at 3AM during a bout of insomnia post-9/11. I seriously thought I was dreaming. It is WEIRD. But brilliant. I love it.


23. What is the scariest movie you've seen?
The Manchurian Candidate (the original). and Jaws.


24. What is the funniest movie you've seen?
Bringing Up Baby
